AN INTERVIEW WITH DR. VEDA
Doctor of Chinese Medicine · Founder of Turned On Clinic
I Didn't Choose Chinese Medicine. It Found Me.
I didn't find Traditional Chinese Medicine. In many ways, it found me.
Long before I became a doctor, I was fascinated by what makes people feel truly alive. I studied psychology, explored spirituality, questioned conventional ideas about health, and became increasingly interested in the connection between the body, emotion, relationships, and vitality.
What ultimately drew me to Chinese medicine was its refusal to separate those things.

A Different Question About the Body
It offered a language for understanding the human experience that felt both ancient and remarkably relevant. Instead of asking, "What symptom do you have?" it asked, "What kind of life is your body trying to create?"
That perspective changed everything for me.
The Work I Do Now
Today, as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and founder of the Turned On Clinic in Southern California, I help people reconnect with vitality through acupuncture, herbal medicine, nervous system regulation, and what I call relational medicine—the understanding that our health is deeply influenced by the way we relate to ourselves, our bodies, our desires, and the people around us.
Aliveness Is a Diagnostic.
One of the things I love most about Chinese medicine is that it recognizes aliveness as a sign of health.
In my practice, I often tell patients that libido, creativity, enthusiasm, curiosity, and presence are not luxuries. They are diagnostic. When those qualities begin to diminish, the body is often asking for attention long before disease appears.

Medicine as a Way of Living
Chinese medicine has become much more than a profession for me. It is the lens through which I move through the world. It influences how I eat, how I rest, how I navigate relationships, and how I understand healing itself.
I have come to appreciate that healing is often found in small daily rituals—the moments when we intentionally return to our bodies rather than rushing past them.
Why Scent Became Part of My Practice
One of my favorite rituals involves Evoela's Sol Vitality and Luna Essence blends. Rather than treating fragrance as an accessory, I use them as sensory anchors throughout my day.
Sol Vitality often accompanies my mornings—inviting presence, vitality, and a conscious transition into the day ahead.
Luna Essence has become part of my evening ritual—encouraging softness, reflection, and a return inward.
As someone who spends her days helping people reconnect with sensation, I believe scent can be a powerful doorway back into embodiment. A beautiful aroma has the ability to interrupt autopilot, deepen a breath, awaken a memory, or simply remind us that we are alive in this moment.
For me, these rituals are not about self-care as another task to accomplish. They are about cultivating a relationship with life itself—through beauty, sensation, presence, and intention.
The Real Medicine Isn't What You Think
The longer I practice, the less interested I become in symptom management alone—and the more interested I become in helping people return to themselves.
Because beneath every diagnosis, every imbalance, and every complaint is a person who wants to feel more connected to their life.
For me, that is the true medicine.
